FC7 Live on USB wont write with persistence
I have a Fedora 7 livecd distro installed on a kingston 2gb usb stick formatted as ext2 with boot and lvm switches. everything I know about this distro is that it is writable from the root and all folders as /usr as rwx. I have confirmed that /usr is drwx but anything I write to the stick is lost on reboot. any help would be appriciated. I can write to the usb stick I just have no persistence. Thanks.

Just a wild guess here, but is FC7 live perhaps using unionfs where what you think is getting written to the usb stick is actually just getting written to ram?

I know that they were looking at unifons but I don't know what the final solution was in the final release. Assuming that they did, is there some way to get it to write to mu usb?

I believe if you give the mount command w/o parameters you will see UNIONFS listed in the output if it is being used. I suggest checking this out before going further. I would think there would be a way to mount the partition directly w/o UNIONFS so you could write to your USB stick, but I really don't have any experience with this. You could always try googling. :)
