FC6 in text mode with errors after deleting some packege
 

:D first I know that it is a stupid step from me :D
I was having a FC6 working very good but I made a stupid step to free some space from that partition so I started Yum and deleted some packages and I do not remember all packages I deleted but I remember that I delete the Python, genome and some libraries so the system hang up and when I reboot the system make some errors and give me the login in text mode so I login as root and tried to run yum to update the system to install the deleted packages so it gives me

there was a problem importing one of the python modules required to run yum the error leading to this problem was : No module named rpm


so I tried to start kde or Xface4 they gives something like

unable to load or open shared library

so I can't start any thing

can any one help me to fix that problem ????:confused:

note :- I can't make a new installation

Sound's like yum is hosed.
Try force install yum and do an rpm --rebuild.
Do a bit of reading about this first though.

but how to install yum ? from FC6 CD or what and which one ? and what the command I have to type ? and what about the missing shared libraries ?

My thought is to see if yum works from the command line by installing something simple first, for example ksh. ksh won't harm anything, it is another shell similar to bash. As root, enter yum install ksh at the command line. If that works then you can go for a groupinstall of your preferred desktop. That will get your GUI up and running again and we can go from there. It may be a good idea to do a groupremove before running the install to clean things up. To get a list of group names enter yum grouplist at the command line. If the group name contains spaces put double quotes around the "Group Name".

would it be possable to do an upgrade? You can set it so that all the data stays the same and there are no formats at all. It may be your best bet, getting rid of python, well, at work we would do that purly because the system is in an unstable state and if you don't know what kinda packages you got rid of, you have no idea about what is not yelling at you. I mean, one day you could try running an app and it would die without a report because of a shared lib that you got rid of. BTW there isn't anything to be afraid of, just click don't format on the install and it won't. If you can, back up your really important data to either cd or external hard drive.

I made an upgrade to Fedora core 7 i386 and every thing go nice but I have a problem with my nVidia built in lan and sound and display
the lan cannot be configured
there is no sound. the system cannot feel it
the display is not want to activate the 3D effects for the desktop
I think that all of that problem can solve by installing the deriver of my nVidia cards

but when I searched for it in the nVidia site there is no driver for it ( GeForce 6100, nForce 405 ) can any one have this driver or from where I can downloaded it ?

I'm also put another Ethernet card and it work but I want to make my nVidia work to free the slot which holding that card
