I have installed fc5 and found it a right pain in the arse. I am use to hassle as I have been using windows for years. However I am still trying to get wine to work after over a week. The latest error is that the latest sane-backend conflicts with the previous version. Why doesn't it ask if you want to use the latest version and then install it resolving the issue???

So I suppose my question is are all Linux distros such a pain or is this a problem with fc5???

I love Linux but at the moment I am still having to revert to Windoze to use Dreamweaver.

Can anybody recommend a different distro???

If your first order of business is getting a Windows emulator working, why bother switching?

If there is a problem with a package then you should report it using bugzilla. Venting here won't fix the problem.
