fc5 to fc6 then download epsom rx520 driver

I cannot access any printers through system-admin-printers just get ghosted screen
with server sttings "go to server" cannot connect to server. locally connected printer does
not get a mention.
command lpq gives list of docs q'd but lprm doesn't work and then lpq re-issue
fails to report q'd docs saying cannot connect.
uninstall attempt with rpm says driver package not installed,
install attempt with rpm says package already installed.
Cannot access parallel printer either, Open Office just reports printer error
after any attempt to set details.

Any help would be welcome
