fc5 printing to fc3 cups server
Hi All,
We have a Fedora Core 3 machine acting as a cups server so we can share an HP Laserjet 1300 printer with a bunch of office computers. I recently upgraded a couple of the client machines from fc3 to fc5 and now they can't print. I set them up with the GUI tool just like I did for the the fc3 clients (which still work great). Did something change in fc5 that would prohibit these machines from accessing the cups server? I don't think this is a firewall issue because I tried setting up printing with it (and SELinux) disabled. When I try to print a test page it says: There was a problem sending CUPS test page to 'hp1300' queue: /usr/bin/lpr: Connection refused Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
Use the browser interface to configure printing; http://127.0.0.1:631 and use ipp printing if available.

I had this problem recently. There were other issues, but I had to install the cups-lpd package to eliminate the error message you mentioned.
