FC5 on Core Duo?

Hi. I'm thinking about making my laptop dual boot XP and Fedora Core 5. My laptop has a Core Duo processor. I have already downloaded the 5 iso images from the web site. But I read somewhere that to get the benefit of the dual core, I need some special MP kernel version or something of the Fedora.

My questions are:
1. If I didn't care about the increased performance, would the 5 CDs that I have downloaded work with my laptop?
2. If I wanted to get this MP kernel, where can I get it and how would I go about installing it on my laptop?

I'm quite new to linux. All I've done so far is burned the 5 CDs, and I've been able to dual boot XP and Fedora on my desktop (Intel P4). Can someone please clarify if there is anything different I have to do for my laptop because it is a Core Duo processor?

Thanks a lot.

the one you downloaded should work. When you isntall it will extract the correct kernel image.
