fc5 installing packages

Hey all,

I just installed FC5. Im used to fc4 and couldnt figure out how to install packages i missed during initial install. I tried to use add/remove software to install packages but that kept trying to download them off of the net rather than using the cds. I installed kyum to see if that would work better but that wants to install them off of the net too. I also tried disconnecting from the net then trying but that doesnt work at all. I need to install the packages just off of the cds if someone can help me set that up. Thanks for your help in advance.

That gives me the following error. Could someone please helpme figure out whats wrong?

Process 3864 (yum) has been started.
Please be patient, this may be a lengthy operation...

(Command being executed: yum -y info available).

*** file:///media/disk/repodata/primary.xml.gz: [Errno 4] IOError: [Errno 5] Input/output error
*** Trying other mirror.
*** Error: failure: repodata/primary.xml.gz from DVD: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Setting up repositories
Reading repository metadata in from local files
Process exited normally with code 1.

Hi,

my sis wrote a bit of a howto here.

It cannot read directly from the CD, but the workaround is copying the rpms onto the hardisk, then using the package manager from that.
