FC5, ifconfig...?

I thought I'd give FC5 a try - it looks great, but where is ifconfig?

# ifconfig
bash: ifconfig: command not found

# iwconfig
bash: iwconfig: command not found

I've got wireless working on my NC6000 laptop (ipw2100), but where are the commands?

It is odd, I did 2 identical installs(read same package selection) on different machines... I don't want to expound here, I will make another thread. But laptop with 5cd 32bit works and has ifconfig. 64bit dvd however, did not.

Just thought I would mention I had the same problem with FC5 64bit. But, if I typed in su - already as root, ifconfig showed up. Not sure why that is, but thought I would mention it.

It's at /sbin/ifconfig and /sbin/iwconfig

/sbin is not in the non-root user's path by default

I dont know the error about ifconfig, maybe U should try '# find / -name \ifconfig' and link to /sbin/ifconfig.

and the iwconfig, try 'apt-get install wireless-tools', may you success
