Exclamation FC5 & sk98lin-8_13-rh3-2.4.21-40.EL.i386.rpm Problem

FC5 & sk98lin-8_13-rh3-2.4.21-40.EL.i386.rpm
I have Intel DG865RY mother board with
LAN Support Gigabit (10/100/1000 Mbits/sec) LAN subsystem using the Intel® 82566DC Gigabit Ethernet Controller
MyFedora Installation couldnot detect it. Then I installed sk98lin-8_13-rh3-2.4.21-40.EL.i386.rpm from Intel site.
Now I can't see this eth on Hardware section & can't set it up.
I tried to add Diffrent hardware (incl. Intel all like Intel EtherExpress/1000 gigabit, SysKonnect SK-98xx Gigabit) as eth1..eth5 from select adapter menu through Network Configuration. But none of these can be actived or work.

Interesting think, I have another extra adapter for adsl connection setting default ip=dhcp which work fine.
when I add eth0:1 for this adapter with IP=192.168.0.1 & Mask=255.255.255.0 and activate this. I can ping my local computer from Fedora. But from other pc I can't ping MySelf

Could any body please help. I am new in Linux

This package; sk98lin-8_13-rh3-2.4.21-40.EL.i386.rpm is not built for FC5 or any other version of Linux except for Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 3 with kernel 2.4.21-40 installed. Remove it, it will and does not work any how. It was built for a 2.4 kernel not a 2.6 kernel.

Why not use the sk98lin module built (as part of the kernel) for FC5??
First it may have been detected and the module is loaded;

cat /proc/modules | grep sk98lin

ls /proc/net/sk98lin/

Quoting from the /usr/src/linux-2.6.XX/Documentation/networking/sk98lin.txt file;
Quote:
This should produce an output containing a line with the following
format:
eth0 eth1 ...
which indicates that your adapter has been found and initialized.
