FC5 and browsing files

Hey all,

Just had a quick question in regards to browsing the file system on a Fedora 5 system. I'm curious to know if there is still a way to force the system to always use a browser to explore. In previous versions, I could always go to the Configuration Editor and put a check in the Always Use Browser box to use the browser for filesystem exploring. FC5 does not have the Configuration Editor anymore. The default method of opening a new window for each folder is exceedingly irritating when dealing with large filesystems with a lot of subfolders. The included File Browser seems similar to the old browser style, but is lacking in comparison, and there is no way I've found yet to make it the default view.

So, 2 issues here:

1. Does the old browser style from Fedora 1-4 remain in Fedora 5 somewhere?

2. Assuming it doesn't, is there any way to make the new File Browser the default view when opening the Filesystem or Home icons on the desktop? Along with that, can I make the Location bar show up by default on the File Browser window instead of having to use a keyboard shortcut or a pulldown menu?

Just trying to make things easier and quicker when browsing files.

Thanks!

You can use Fedora Frog to change that setting (called "Same Window"), as well as performing other useful tasks (like installing the gconf editor).
