I have a 32bit machine. pentiumIII. will be buying 64bit FC5 dvd. will it support my machine? will it scale back to my 32bit cpu or will it now work right?
the reason is that I will be building a 64bit machine in few months and having FC5 64 for the new machine would be needed.
NO it won't work. As the name says this version is compiled into 64-bit binaries which can't be handled by a 32 bit processor. By the way if you wan't to build the computer in a few month I wouldn't buy a dvd today because linux-distros ( especially fedora) have very short release cycles, so if you buy a fc5 dvd today, it will be obsolete when you will have built your system.
