fc5 2080 killed rpm

nothing hangs anymore but when I try to uninstall wine I get this error:
error reading information on service wine: No such file or directory
error: %preun(wine-0.9.10-2.fc5.i386) scriptlet failed

It would probably be beneficial for me to just learn how rpm works but that takes time-- help is greatly appreciated.

Please leave your original question intact and then add extra details so that others can benefit from your post when they find it using the search function. As it is its difficult to know what the initial problem was. Anyway it seems like rpm is having a problem executind the prerun wine script. To uinstall wine, you'll have to do
#rpm -Uvh --noscripts wine
