Right when I get to the grey screen in bootup it freezes and does nothing. What can I do? I've tried reinstalling linux multiple times.

U should try pressing ctrl+alt+backspace to goto text mode.then make a backup copy of
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.am not responsible for anything wrong!
then should manually edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf for the line device driver and type "vesa"
save it
in # proompt type
startx
it may work.otherthing is Identify your motherboard and its driver and enter it there.
Please check ur monitor model and its horizontal Synchro and Vertical refresh by going through its manual/try web and enter it in Monitor section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf .If u r sure
that FC4 support that board try system-config-display.Thanks!

Disable the framebuffer during boot:
at the grub prompt, press 'e' to edit the command
go to the line that starts: 'kernel /...'
press enter
scroll to end of line and erase the 'rhgb' from the end
press enter
press 'b' to boot

If it works, edit /etc/grub.conf to make the change permanent.
