FC4 doesn't update desktop??

When I download something to the Desktop.. Most of the time it shows on the Desktop, but sometimes it doesn't but when I check the Console in the Desktop directory, it shows up but doesn't show on the Desktop :s

any help is appreciated

Well it could be that the icon is being displayed off the desktop. Normally I don't think this would happen, but I have noticed a similar thing when downloading with Firefox.

The default save location is the desktop. Some of the icons were HALF off the desktop on the left hand edge.

Try right-clicking on the desktop and selecting 'Clean up by name'. This should resort the icons by name and might bring them back into view. Of course, it might move more icons off

yeah, i've had mine run off the desktop too.. its irritating, anyway to fix THAT?

I know it doesn't really fix the problem but I had this one too and "fixed" it by changing the default download location for firefox to a folder I created in my home space.
