FC4 bootup extremely slow? stuck in 'starting sendmail'
My fedora 4 was fine yesterday, but after I reboot, the booting process is extremely slow, it stopped at 'starting sendmail' for about 2 minutes, and then 'sm-client' for about another 2 minutes, anyone knows what's wrong with that?
May I disable sendmail from starting up? or is that something the system must start in order to work properly? |
You can disable sendmail from starting up. That will immediately resolve your slow boot problem.
Troubleshoot why sendmail fails to start - look at the logs. DNS problem? |
Question 1: How do I disable sendmail?
Question 2: Where's the log files? |
1: 'chkconfig --levels 235 sendmail off' (as root)
2: Probably in /var/log/mail.log. Google will be able to tell you the exact location if you can't find it, I'm sure. |
