FC3 won't complete boot process

Hi:
I'm running FC3 on a Compaq nc8000 and I'm trying to get my monitor to have a better resolution than 800X640. I edited the /etc/inittab to only boot to run level 3 so I can later change the xorgs.conf file, describing the monitor resolution. I was just trying out booting to run level 3 and the boot process "hangs" before I get to the log in prompt.
The FC3 goes thru the diagnostics, then just hangs. Is there a key sequence or something I can do to interrupt the boot sequence so I can edit /etc/inittab so I can get back to run level 5?
- Rolf.

boot with your FC3 install CD in the CDROM drive, at the prompt that shows up, type in "linux rescue" run through the linux rescue setup, when you get to the command terminal, type in "chroot /mnt/sysimage" then type in "vim /etc/inittab" that will open your inittab file using vim, if you perfer another editing program then use that instead of vim, when you get done editing the inittab file hit "esc" and then type ":wq" and press enter, the file should then be saved and you will exit vim, you should now be back at the command terminal, here type "exit" twice to reboot, also don't forget to eject the CD from the CDROM drive, you should now be able to boot to FC3 in graphic mode.

and just so you don't have to edit your inittab file, you can just edit the xorg file in a text editor save the file and hit "ctrl+alt+backspace" to restart X Server.
