FC3 with 20" apple display trouble

Hey everyone - I just installed FC3, and everything seemed to go without a hitch until my first boot. At the end of the boot, when the GUI was getting ready to load, the screen went black--and stayed that way. There was some chatter from the hard drive, but no picture. I'm able to boot into the bash shell by putting the "linux 3" tag on the GRUB kernel loading string. But that's it. I'm thinking this is a video card and/or display problem. I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro vidcard and a 20" Apple Cinema LCD. Someone suggested it might be the Vertical Refresh and Horizontal Sync values being wrong in the .config file. Problem is, I'm having trouble getting sync and refresh data on the screen from Apple. Anyone tried a similar setup before? Do you think I'm on the right track?

Thanks

Apparently the problem is with the ATI Drivers. The latest drivers released by ATI (8.10.19) have a fix for apple cinema displays, so you should try installing those. Check out the release notes and to download it visit here.
