FC3, need to upgrade mysql to v4.1

I read the old threads on upgrading mysql in FC3 to version 4.1, but I can't quite follow them. Has anyone had any luck with this?

Be easy on the noob...

Download the source rpm for example;

wget http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pu....FC4.1.src.rpm

As root use rpmbuid to build the binary rpm files;

rpmbuild --rebuild --recomplie mysql-4.1.20-1.FC4.1.src.rpm

Install the resulting binaries normally found in /usr/src/redhat/RPMS (Hint: check the output from the rpmbuild command). Normally one does not need the debuginfo rp file to be installed it is safe or OK to delete/move before installing.

rpm -Uvh *.rpm

-bash: rpmbuild: command not found
[root@localhost ~]#

...and yum only installs v3.

Check and see if in fact you already have it installed; rpm -qa 'rpm*'

If yes then you have a pathing problem, if not then;
Code:
wget http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/3/i386/os/Fedora/RPMS/rpm-build-4.3.2-21.i386.rpm
From where the rpm package is located after the download is complete and as root type;

rpm -Uvh rpm-build*.rpm
