Exclamation FC3 desktop icons removal!

Iam using Fedora Core 3. After installation my desktop contains 3 icons by default.' MY computer' , 'Home' & 'Thrash' . I dont need these icons in the desktop. How do I remove them?. There are no files/icons in the /home/desktop/ folder too. When I had FC1 , deleteing the items in /home/desktop removed all my desktop icons.

Thanks

Open a shell and run the gconf-editor. Double click (to expand the list) apps> nautilus> desktop then in the right hand window uncheck the boxes of the things you don't want displayed.
