FC3 'error' at login

Hello,

Got Fedora Core 3 on my system a little while ago, but in trying to setup an internet connection, I think i've caused a message to appear after login, it reads like this:

Could not look up internet address for localhost.localdomain. This will prevent GNOME from operating correctly. It may be possible to correct the problem by adding localhost.localdomain to the file /etc/hosts

Can anyone enlighten me? (I might have done something with the network, perhaps, in all my fiddling)

Not very keen on FC3 so far, but then it has only been a matter of an hour, or so of use.

You've damaged your /etc/hosts file. It should look like this:

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
135.82.8.136 myhost.mydomain.com myhost

Also, if you've just installed FC3, remember that you need to apply the maintenence to see what it's really like. The installation set is just stable enough to get you updated:

First update the update tool itself:

yum -y update yum

Then update everything else:

yum -y update
