Hello all,

I just did a fresh install of FC2 (had FC1 previously) and am having a problem I never had with FC1...

FC2 seems to hang during boot when it is probing for new hardware. It is not a true hang, however, as eventually (after about 15-20 minutes) it will continue. Here are my system specs:

• Asus A7M266-D Motherboard
  2 x AthlonMP 2200+
  1024GB DDR (2 x 512)
  2 x 40GB Seagate Barracuda
  2 x 160GB Seagate Barracuda (connected to Silicon Image 0680 ATA/133 PCI Controller)
  Radeon 9000
  ATI TV Wonder Pro
  All external hardware connected through USB (4 devices connected through USB 1.1 Hub)
  3Com Ethernet

I never had any problems with FC1 besides its fussiness with my onboard CMIPCI sound. It booted quickly and without problems. What could be causing all the problems now? I should also note that I am dual-booting with Windows XP Pro.

After attempting to probe the hardware when it eventually continues booting what does the next line state? Does it indicate a failure on any device? Have you checked your system log to see if there are any issues there?
