FC2 Does it have built in virus protection?

Hi newbie to Linux here. I see that I have a firewall, but does FC2 also come with a virus protection? If so you someone tell me the name of it so I can try to do a yum update?

If not any suggestions for a good free one that will work with my OS?

I know this is not the answer you are looking for, but read here: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2003/10...ndows_viruses/

And here: http://librenix.com/?inode=21

I don't know of a single successful Linux virus that exists or has existed in the wild, ever.

And I do not believe FC2 comes with virus protection. Maybe someone knows of an app they can recommend if you still feel concerned.

anomie,
Wow thanks great article, totally reassures me! I think I'll stay clear of lindows lol

I never opened attachments in email, my family and friends learned years ago not to send me "cute" junk. and had everything set to be the most secure in windows, yet I have had 2 viruses get me.

I am fer stickin with linux and learning how to use it and hopefully someday learn to program it. I can dream

See http://www.fedoraproject.org/wiki/Se...d7b879af0c582d

Fedora Core does come with ClamAV ("yum install clamav"), but it is not for checking Linux viruses; it is mostly for Linux email servers to check their emails for Windows viruses.
