FC2 as server on a big lan?

hi people.

we want to make an update for our webserver, and i was wondering if it is safe enough to install FC2 on it. now it is running debian stable.

does anyone had security problems a server on a big lan working with FC2?

thanks a lot

Don't fix if it ain't broken.

never think change your stable distro to unstable one, if it is a server. all of FCs are unstable.

Why do you want to change to FC from Debian?

legolin 10-14-2004 04:36 AM

because of the fast updates... i'm using samba, and the samba from debian is pretty old.

configuring firewall in debian is quiet a nightmare... in FC is easy.

i think i'm going to change it, the debian box isn't running as good as i what, anyway....

thankx, i'll tell you latter how is it going

Woody is old. Debian Sarge is not and is stable as in at least as stable as FC if not more so. And has a gui "firestarter" to config a firewall.

It's your choice. But I personally wouldn't do it.
