FC1 Slowww

Ok I bought the book "Linux for Dummies" because yes I am a dummie.
It came with the Fedora Core 1 on DVD.

It installs without a hitch. But.. Its slow. Its my video card I believe.

ATI Radeon 9600xt. It supports the 9600 series but when i choose it in the video card option my boot hangs anf freezes. No matter what I do.

Right now I am on Mandrake 10. It's nice but I like the options Fedora has, unfortunately im stuck with Mandrake unless you can help.
