FC 6 baseurl

The Package Manager in FC 6 is unable to retrieve software information due to an inability to find a valid baseurl for repo: core

Please can someone firstly explain what this is? and secondly how to fix or solve this problem.

Thanks

The package manager is by default, configured to look for packages on the net. Are you connected to the net? If not take a look here for info on how to use the dvd or cd set as a yum repo.
