Lately I have been seeing the message "failed to load start kernel modules" when booting F27.
Any advice on why this might be occurring and whether it is of any real consequence?
It's a message from systemd, as you would have seen if you had googled it. Try giving the command systemctl status systemd-modules-load.service and it should show you which module is not being loaded correctly.
As a general rule, the first thing to do with any mysterious error message is to feed it into Google. Google is your friend (except when it spies on you!)
Thanks for your response.
I tend to avoid Google for issues like this (and most other things) because it tends to be full of half truths and even rubbish, and rely on this forum which I assumed was specific and would provide advice from those that know. What's the point of this forum if we are supposed to go to Google?
I'll give that command a try next time the message appears at boot.
Are these boot messages that I see on the screen also written to a file, if so which file, where?
Cheers,
Terry
