F7 update
Hi.
I'm updating my Fedora 7 box with yum from terminal and when it gets to a package named elfutils-0.129-1.fc7.i386.rpm it stops saying that there is no public key for this package installed. Where do I find the key for this package to install?

Public key for elfutils-0.129-1.fc7.i386.rpm is not installed

Probably someone forgot to sign that package. You can exclude it from being update by doing
Code:
#yum --exclude=elfutils update
If you trust the source, you can temporarily disable gpg key checking in your yum.conf and install it.

If you run
rpm will give you a description of what the program does or the contents of the rpm. The description from my CentOS 5 install is
Quote:
Name : elfutils Relocations: (not relocatable)
Version : 0.125 Vendor: CentOS
Release : 3.el5 Build Date: Wed 14 Mar 2007 01:16:47 PM GMT
Install Date: Sat 28 Apr 2007 11:16:53 AM BST Build Host: builder6
Group : Development/Tools Source RPM: elfutils-0.125-3.el5.src.rpm
Size : 355995 License: GPL
Signature : DSA/SHA1, Wed 04 Apr 2007 01:21:27 AM BST, Key ID a8a447dce8562897
Summary : A collection of utilities and DSOs to handle compiled objects.
Description :
Elfutils is a collection of utilities, including ld (a linker),
nm (for listing symbols from object files), size (for listing the
section sizes of an object or archive file), strip (for discarding
symbols), readelf (to see the raw ELF file structures), and elflint
(to check for well-formed ELF files).

If its from the Fedora repos, then I am sure you can trust it.

Due to problems in the Fedora Updates System, the package was signed and released with a wrong key, the key for Test Updates, and not resigned properly.
