External modem voicesurfr 33.6
I am new to the Linux system. This is my first time to install Fedora core 1 and try it out.
I connect the external modem, Motorola voicesurfr 33.6, to serial port 1. But the system does not detect the modem. Then I install Fedora core 3 and try it. But the system still does not detect the modem. I re-install Fedora core 1 again and connect the modem to serial port. I try both port 1 or port 0. The system still cannot detect the modem. Can someone help ?
I also find the following message in Kernel startup.log
"ACPI: disable because your bios is from 1999 and too old"
"ACPI: interpreter disable"
What is ACPI ?
