Error when using yum

My Distro: Fedora Core 5

When i goto run YUM i get the following error:

/lib/libgcc_s.so.1: version `GCC_3.3.1' not found (required by /usr/lib/librpmio-4.4.so)

Please install a package which provides this module, or
verify that the module is installed correctly.

It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:
2.4.3 (#1, Oct 23 2006, 14:19:47)
[GCC 4.1.1 20060525 (Red Hat 4.1.1-1)]

I need to have GCC 3 and 4 installed, can anyone help me fix the above problem?

What you need are the compatibility packages, of which there are quite a few.
