Reinstall wine?
I take it everything else in X works OK? note: your profile says your distro is mandrake but you have posted in fedora?? |
In fact, I've download and installed the latest version of wine, but still get the same error.
BTW, I ran mandrake before, now fedora core 4, and I'm lazy to modify my profile for that reason. |
hmmm ... I've installed the latest wine in FC4 with none of this hiccough.
Did you install from source or rpm? OTOH: I havn't upgraded xorg yet :) How did you upgrade xorg? Now, this is a failed xserver request - it seems to be telling you that the pixmap is too big for the available resources. Odd. Is this happening for everything you run in wine (even dos text programs run in wineconsole?) |
1. I installed wine by source.
2. X is upgraded through yum. 3. I need only WinRar to run on X. It's too enough. |
You realise that rar files can be created and extracted in linux?
http://www.filegate.net/rar-far/rar/ The package is rlnx35b1.zip or rlnx341.zip |
Is that package a GUI app like WinRar? I need a GUI, not text-based one.
|
rar is quite popular since it's good at splitting large archives into manageable bits. While there are unix tools that do this too, windozers seldom have these. The point is that this is well implimented. Gnome's "fileroller" is supposed to support rar archives for eg.
