Error 16 Inconsistent File Structure
 

Last kernel update (2.6.22.9-91.fc7 to 2.6.23.1-10.fc7) upon reboot get error 16 inconsistent file structure. Grub menu allows selection of older kernel and it boots properly. Usually when things go bad just reinstall. This problem seems to be repairable. I don't know how though any suggestions ?

Downloading files is not an error free process. You might have downloaded a corrupt file. You might have to download the kernel upgrade package and install it manually.

i586 kernel

i686 kernel

You can install an rpm using

# rpm -Uvh <filename>
