"Ending Session" Problem

FC8, KDE
When running "Logout > Ending Session" the "welcome window" where you login, logout, change session, etc , (Login Gui) What is that window called?

Anyway when I "End Session" to get that (Login Gui) window it won't go there, It takes me passed that and to the "Shell"

When I reboot computer it will take me to the that (Login Gui) window so I can Login,

But I can't get to that window when "Ending Session"

HOW do I fix this problem ?

GDM isn't installed for KDE.

The kde version of gdm is, not surprisingly, called kdm. Either one will work with any desktop environment, but of course gdm integrates better with gnome while kdm integrates with kde. There's also a very basic xdm available and probably a few others.

If you have a dm installed, then logging out usually drops you back to a new login screen. But if you you log in by typing startx, then logging out will simply drop you back to the shell (note, this is true even if you have a dm installed).

When I first login, I login with a DM , but when I "Logout > End Session it
takes me to the shell instead of the DM where i login at the beginning.
