Enabling Hardware Acceleration in FC4 with ATI MOBILITY X700

I am trying to install 3ddesktop for linux, but don't worry if you know nothing about it, because the problem doesn't have anything to do with the program itself.

When I start it it says:
Code:

Attempting to start 3ddesktop server.
3ddeskd: glXIsDirect failed, no Direct Rendering possible!
3ddeskd: Please configure hardware acceleration.
Exiting. Daemon started.
Run 3ddesk to activate.
Server not found after waiting 5 seconds. Could not find server.
Try starting manually (3ddeskd)

So what I did is:
I installed the ATI drivers for my videocard (mobility X700) which can be found here:
https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...e&folderID=300

The graphical installation went fine, no complaints, I can now choose a much higher resolution and such, all works fine. But 3ddesk still gives me the error.

A "fgrlxinfo" gives me this:
Code:

display: :0.0  screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
OpenGL version string: 1.2 (1.5 Mesa 6.2.1)

Can anyone help me enable my hardware acceleration ?

Thanks,
Reinout,
