EasyLife has killed my graphics!!!

Please Help

I've recently installed Fedora 12 over my Ubuntu install for a change and I really liked it, then I realised that I didn't have the acceleration on my Nvidia Gfx card.

After a bit of looking around the web I read about EasyLife which installs the Nvidia driver as well as some other things, I downloaded and ran it selecting the driver install and now I can't get back in! It gets to the menu fine and fills the little round thing up until it turns into the 'F' and then the screen corrupts and I have to switch off at the mains to restart.

I may have selected the wrong Nvidia driver but I couldn't find where to identify the exact hardware I've got (I bought the Pc a couple of months ago and it's an HP if that helps).

Please could someone tell me how to reset back if possible, I tried putting the disc in and asking it to fix the system but no luck.

Please help.

Thanks
Eric

When my nvidia install messed up in F12 I had to remove all instances of akmod-nvidia, kmod-nvidia-PAE, xorg-x11-drv-nvidia, /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nouveau.conf, /etc/X11/xorg.conf* (including livna backup) and after a reboot, change the xorg.conf entry from vesa to nouveau to get nouveau back. When you get nouveau back and running you can try installing the drivers again. I would NEVER use Easylife or Autoten to install graphics drivers, since they don't look to see what kernel your using etc. You should always use Leighs instructions found on the fedora forums here: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=204752
The first on this thread always has the most up to date info for installing nvidia drivers.
Also, my install is 32 bit and using a PAE kernel and I tried installing the akmods, I don't know what Easylife tried installing to your box, so, there might be some different files that you have to remove (i.e., kmod-nvidia instead of akmod-nvidia). But this could be a starting point for you.

You don't really remove the nouveau drivers, but blacklist them. That part is also covered in the first post of the link I gave. Using the .run file from nvidia to install the drivers is not really recommended when using Fedora. The kmods and akmods from rpmfusion work very well, and are supported in forums.
