DVD upgrade from FC12 to FC16

Can I do a DVD upgrade from FC12 to FC16? I have the DVD ready to roll, but I am not sure if this upgrade is too long a reach.

I am assuming FC12 is too old to do an upgrade via yum...

Understand a fresh install is best. But, is it possible to do an upgrade in-place?

fedora 12 and 16 are SO different that a "upgrade" mostlikely will not work

At least not without a LOT of manual changing of files and rpms

16 uses a lotof different programs from 12 so there will be a lot of left over fedora 12 rpms that you would have to remove for 16

it would be a mess

IF the system still worked after the upgrade
i would guess that it would take about a week to start to clean things up
and then after a week or two you mostlikely will not have a working system

so yes you "could" upgrade
but will the OS still work ?????
mostlikely not .
