Did you install the fedora boot loader ?? grub.
If so you will need to add it to the fedora grub.conf.

What is the partition for /boot on RHEL ie /dev/hdax .

Dude, when you do this, during the Fedora Core 4 installation, make certain that you DO NOT install another boot loader. If you do, it will always wipe out the RedHat boot loader. You only need one boot loader, so you might as well just keep the one from the first installation.

However, since you already installed both operating systems, you simply need to boot Fedora, and then you need to edit grub.conf so that you have an entry which points to the kernel used to boot RedHat. I hope that you installed each OS to a separate file system partition - otherwise you simply replaced one with the other.

I think the save way is to add grub.conf content from RHEL to your FC4. First, mount your RHEL partition, say at /mnt/rhel. Then fireup your text editor to open /mnt/rhel/boot/grub/grub.conf. Copy text start from 'title RHEL ...' until end. Open your FC4 grub.conf locate at /boot/grub/grub.conf and append that copied text to the end. Boot and when boot loader start counting, press any key to go to boot menu. You must have two menu now.
