download speed
Has anyone had trouble d/l disc4.iso? I got the first three at
77,97,and 106 KB/s while the fourth is only avg. 12. I tried
reconnecting a couple of times but the speed stayed the same.
What is on disc4.iso and do I need it?

basically, you will need some of the packages in the 4th cd if you choose to do a full install. try downloading from different mirrors or better yet, join the bit torrent.

You would only need it if you do a full install. For a selective custom install, you need only the first three cd's.
I too faced the same problem and then had to redownload from a different mirror, coz my download completely stopped after a few hours.

Thanks for the replies folks. I just got dsl yesterday and
I thought I would put win back on both laptops until I get
things sorted out. I have fedora rc1 on an extra h/d for
the toshiba which I tried out this morning but I am going
to have learn more about pppoe before I can proceed.
I d/l the iso's with xp to check my connection speed.
Eventually I plan to go back to linux full time.
Changed mirrors, No problem with d/l.
Should have known!
