DNS Listen on too many ip addresses

I posted another thread on the forum earlier about my dns and think I have it down to this. When I start my dns it listens on all three of my ipaddresses. When I do a named -u named -g on the master I see that it is trying to transfer the zones to my slave but it is using my third ip addresses and not the main one and not the one my ns2 is setup to use. How can I get the master dns to send to my slave on a specified ipaddress using port 53 and not just using the last ip address i aliased on my network card?

thanks.

this happened to me also, and when you try to install bind with configured IPs for multiple adapters or have ip aliases, it produces rndc errors or your named didnt work at all. I just make things worked by assigning only one ip, this means that the server is dedicated for only one services which is named.

I think there is a configuration parameter for this, like of DHCPARGS=ethx on DHCPS configuration.

Hope somebody got a solution for this and could help us.

Solution

I figured it out. It was working in a chrooted environment so i had the wrong conf being used. The real path to the config file was /var/named/chroot/etc/named.conf not /etc/named.conf

thanks.
