dnf does nothing with a local install

Hello All,
I regularly build packages to test current repo source and up until today have been able to install them using...

sudo dnf install --nogpgcheck fred.xxx.rpm

Today when I try an install, I get asked for the sudo password (as usual) but then it just sits, and sits...no cpu activity, no nothing.
I'm running Fedora 22 x86_64 and dnf-1.1.1-2.fc22.noarch.

Any thoughts as to what is going on here?

Cheers,
Terry

Finally got some sense out it...it seems that the period of apparent inactivity is due to dnf trying to make contact with a particular repo, and after a Long While it gives up and proceeds to do as it has been asked.
Methinks a bit more feedback on what it is doing wouldn't go astray.

Cheers,
Terry

First thought would be to get the debug messages (-v); might provide a pointer. Else maybe use --disablerepo; I occasionally have to use that for the rawhide kernels I track. Maybe --disablerepo=* since it's a local install - haven't tried it, but the manpage says it takes a glob.

rpm can install locally without dnf's overheads.
