Display transparent terminals, Gnome?

I know eterm works in gnome cant see any reason aterm won't work

launch the gnome terminals, next click on the edit tab. next click on profile. Select the default or create a new profile. Next click on edit. Select on the " Effects" tab and there you go.

Great thanks so much! for the effects tab would have skipped it, and how to view menu bar when I hide it ?
