Ok well i currently have three partitions + swap. one partition is windows(ntfs), one is fc5(ext3), and the last is storage(jfs). I have mythtv setup and was installed to the fc5 ext3 partition. The recordings were set to be saved to my bulk jfs partition. this partition was set to autmount upon startup. all was well until i got the bright idea to shrink the bulk partition. i tried it using qtparted, without success, so i booted into my windows partition, deleted the bulk partition, split it into two, made one ntfs, and the other unformatted. windows had no problem, but when i tried to go back, and by doing so, i essentially went back to having the ext3 partition, and the ntfs, along with the now un-formatted jfs space, and booted up fc5, i get a disk read error or something. it puts me at a repair prompt, and i have to login with the root password. i want to know how i can fix that last partition so that fc5 will work again. i tried to format it to jfs, and then reboot, but the only way i tried was by using a ubuntu live cd and formatting it which failed. what else can i do to format it with jfs? is there some sort of utility cd i could use? or how could i use the existing fc5 to fix it? sorry i am a newb and naturally i have to learn things the hard way.....
