I have just upgraded to F28 and find Digikam (5.9.0) behaves differently when selecting an image and using "open with".
Previous behaviour, when selecting "open with darktable", darktable would open over Digikam with the selected image loaded, and when done I could kill darktable and drop back to Digikam.
Now darktable opens behind Digikam. I have never found any way of minimising Digikam (it takes over the whole screen) to get to darktable, I have to quit Digikam then restart it when done with darktable.
Is anyone aware of any settings in Digikam, that have eluded me, that cause Digikam to be minimised, or ensure that the "open with darktable" will open darktable in front of Digikam?

Later: there were some discussions recently on invoking Darktable, but I dropped off the list a couple of months back.
