difference in snmp between FC3 and FC6

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hi,
I'm having a discovery service which gets the ip address of all the systems connected in the network. It uses the snmp service to get the ip address.
Its working fine with FC3. but not with FC6.
Note: I'm able to get the id for IP address using the MIB browser. But my discovery service is not able to get the IP.

Is there any major change in the snmp kernel in fc6 comparing to fc3?
I have the following lib files.. Do i need anything more for making it to work on FC6?
libnetsnmpagent.so.10 libnetsnmpmibs.so.10 libnetsnmptrapd.so.10
libnetsnmpagent.so.10.0.1 libnetsnmpmibs.so.10.0.1 libnetsnmptrapd.so.10.0.1
libnetsnmphelpers.so.10 libnetsnmp.so.10 libsnmp.so.10
libnetsnmphelpers.so.10.0.1 libnetsnmp.so.10.0.1 libsnmp.so.10.0.1

Please help me....

Does the FC6 snmpd show any errors in the logs?

no. it does not show any error in the log.
looks like the snmpd service is running fine. there must be some change in the way it gives the details of the computer. i mean the change in snmp architecture of fc6 comparing to fc3
That must be the reason why my discovery service is not getting the FC6 ip address. But a MIB browser is able to get the same....

I can't imagine what would have been changed since all it has to do is report whatever the MIB says it should report. Does a local snmpwalk work?

i tried with the snmpwalk also. It gets the OID only from fc3 machine. but not from fc6 machine.
I found that the fc6 is using the net-snmp 5.3.1 version.
so i downloaded the rpms for net-snmp 5.4.1 and installed it.
even after that also, i'm not able to get a fc6 ip address
