I have to run the old Fedora 14 for a long time. Now I have trouble as follows: when I boot Fedora, it shows on the screen:
Checking filesystems
/dev/mapper/VoTGroup-Iv_root contains a file system with errors, checked forced.
Unattached inode 2624285root:
/dev/mapper/VoTGroup-Iv_root: UNEXPECTED IMCONSISTEMCY: Run fsck MANUALLY (i.e., without -a or -p options)
xxx An error occured during the file system check
...Dropping you to a shell:the system will reboot
... when you leave the shell.
Give root password for maintence
(or type Control-D to continue)
------------------
I type my root password , no use.
I simply do not understand how to correct the errors.
Please tell me how to do?
Thank you in advance.

My computer is Dell Precision T1500, it run both Windows10 and Fedora14. While I was in Windows it suddenly update and showed not closing computer. When it update 100% the screen become empty, I waited for a long time but nothing happened so I turned off the computer and went home. Next day the windows was o.k. but when I boot Fedora the previous error message appeared.
Before that update, everything was O.K.

In Fedora if I type control-D, it will reboot and return the same error message,
When I type my root password the screen showed:

bash: caannot set terminal process group (-1): Inappropriate ioct1 for device
bash: no job control in this shell (Repair filesystem) 1 #
-----------------
Here is in the #root, I am an old man. I simply do not know what is "iocat1 for device" and what is "job control"?
Could you please tell me what commands Should I type in?

Thank you.

Thanks to TenTenths!

After reading the similar Threads, I understand what does the sentence "Run fsck MANUALLY". So I enter root and type fsck and answer a
series questions by type "yes". Then the problem solved. That is a very simple question but I did not know. I tried to find answer in "similar
Threads", but it was difficult for me to find out the answers because there are too many previous threads. Now TenTenths told me the
similar Threads. My question is simple but for an old man like me and my English is not good, it is not simple.
Many thanks to TenTenths.
