Wink Detecting/setting full duplex for sound card FC4

Greetings. I am considered a linux newbie, bear with me. I was wondering how to detect and/or set my sound card for full duplex capabilities in Fedora core 4. I have an onboard VIA ac97 sound card and an ens1371 card I can plug in. I know both are outdated, so upgrading can be considered. Thanks in advance.

Hi. Well I've used FC4 for quite some time and I had no trouble with the onboard ac97 I had at the time. Alsa handles the chip pretty well so you shouldn't have any trouble getting the most out of that card. If you consider upgrading tho be sure to ask around about the sound card you want to buy. Especially if it's a creative card. There are some very persistant issues with the original SB Live! for instance.
