Desktop Effects great, browser slow...

So I've seen several posts about the new compiz stuff that's in FC6 being slow. However, I've got sort of a twist on the issue.

When I enable desktop effects, they work GREAT!! Window wobble and the virtual cube desktop stuff are smooth as silk. But if I bring up a web browser (FireFox, Opera) and try to scroll down a web page it is very very slow. I know it is the new compiz stuff because if I simply turn off the desktop effects browsing is super quick again.

Any idea? I really love the new effects but I can't stand having the browsers scroll so slowly.

Try this:

1. Open a terminal window
2. Enter the commands

export MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO=1
firefox

If Firefox works better, then it's still this bug.

That didn't work, but I don't think Pango is the issue here. Because it's not just FireFox, it's ANY web browser. It's something to do with the rendering of pages and scrolling. Again, only when desktop effects are enabled though.
