Default login to KDE instead of GNOME

Hi There folks,

I just changed from Mandriva to Fedora 3.
I used to work with KDE but FC3 automatically logs in GNOME.

How do I change login so that my default is KDE not GNOME?

What login manager are you using? Both KDM + GDM have an option called "Session" on the login box which allows you to choose whether to login to KDE or Gnome. Choose KDE. After sticking your username + password in, you should be prompted whether you to make KDE as your default session, so click "Yes".

Take a look at my post in this thread.

As a normal user, you can run "switchesk kde" to make KDE the default desktop. To change it globally edit /etc/sysconfig/desktop and change DESKTOP="GNOME" to DESKTOP="KDE".
This was just that I needed :)

Thanx

PS My login screen did not ask to store KDE as default (from session menu) . I changed from default to KDE in that menu but it did not ask to det KDE default, it remained to GNOME.

But the trick above helped, now default is KDE
