D-Link DFE 520TX / Via Rhine driver not working

Hi,

I am using Fedora Core 7, kernel 2.6.21. I got a D-Link DFE 520TX ethernet card, which came with a driver for Linux. Though, without the OEM driver, by default, fedora loaded via-rhine module for the card.

I'm using a Reliance WiMax broadband connection, and in Windows XP, it just gets an ip through DHCP. With similar configuration for Linux, it wasn't able to obtain IP information.

Later, I compiler the driver which came in a CDROM with the card, and it also loaded the module rhinefet, but failed to get an ip.

lspci shows "Subsystem: D-Link System Inc Unknown device 1405" in the second line, though it recognises it as Via Rhine III rev 8b. dmesg also says it loaded the driver, recognised the maq, assigned irq 21.

I was wondering if there is a problem with the driver, or the configuration of network or what. Could ipv6 tunneling driver be an issue, I wanted to disable it, but couldn't find enough help.

Please help me.
