Custom Fedora Kernel Project announcement.
This is a project I have been working on for some time now, it aims at having a custom built Fedora kernel especially tuned for improved performance. This is NOT, and I repeat, this is NOT a full replacement for your Fedora official kernel, remember you can have many kernel images on your computer and boot any of those.

5 2.6.15 kernel, Con Kolivas patchset 2 for the 2.6.15 kernel and a
series of patches part of the nitro3 patchset
This release should be considered experimental and you should avoid use
of these packages on a production system or at your own risk. If your
computer is nuked, your toaster fails to work or it suddenly has foam
coming from its slots, or if your harddrive suddenly decides to boot
into Windows, we can't be held responisble... You have been warned.
The CFKP kernels are specially tweaked kernels based on Fedora official
kernels for improved performance and features. They DO NOT aim to be a
complete substitute of the original Fedora kernels, as the Fedora
kernels are the product of careful planning and patching to get the best
possible kernel for the users at any given time. For this reason they
may not be great performers (though they do farily), but they are
stable kernels.
Amongst the features offered by these packages are:
* Lowlatency desktop voluntary kernel preemption.
* 1000 Hz internal ticker.
* Use of the Anticipatory I/O scheduler.
* Built for specific architectures.
* Latest libata.
* Latest ACPI support.
Supported architectures are: i386 in the forms of i686 PentiumIV
optimized and K7 Athlon and x86_64 in a configuration for EM64T
optimization and AMD64 specific, all available in SMP configurations
too. These kernels are not available for PPC architectures (I don't have a
PPC based computer, sorry).
