CUPS web browser interface

G'day all,

I'm trying to get my Lexmark printer to work with FC4. I have got as far as trying to setup the printer through the web browser interface "localhost:631". Despite all known stratergies including searching various fora I have not yet been able to get authorisation to enter the web based set up feature. I have tried root and normal login, to no avail. Any clues on how to configure the cups.conf to suit FC4? I have looked at the cups site and found an article relevant to Suse. It suggests "Change RunAsUser to No". I can find no "RunAsUser" line to change.

Thanks in advance.

John

You should try running printconf-gui (System Settings > Printing).

It's a bit easier to use than the cups administration page and has a few more printer options.
